Weekend Jaunt

Monday, October 15, 2007

My mom, dad, and sister Beki picked me up at 6am Saturday morning as we headed up to Moscow for my sister Mandi's surprise baby shower. Mandi is due the beginning of December, and is expecting a girl. A few months ago, I got this great idea to make Mandi's baby a quilt. Not quite sure how I got that idea, because I'm not much of a sewer, and I've never attempted a quilt. A friend's mom suggested I make a rag quilt, and after finding a picture in a magazine, I decided to go for it. I made up a pattern, bought some fabric, and started cutting and sewing. I was so excited to give Mandi my present - it turned out SO cute (the pictures don't do it justice). Anyway, it was fun to surprise Mandi and see how big her belly is.

Ooh, cute quilt! I'm impressed!
So, the black and white/color picture this is SO easy. I downloaded picasa (picasa.com, I think)- it is a google photo program and it's free. Then you can do all sorts of cool stuff with your pictures and it's really easy. Have fun!

Thanks Liz! I have used Picasa for years, but guess I haven't played with some of the fun features. I'll have to try it out!

Great job, Kim! I don't think I could ever make a quilt!

I'm so impressed Kim! I'm sure Mandi's little girl will love that quilt. I think rag quilts are so cute, and yours turned out beautifully! Cute shot of you with your sisiters.

Aren't my daughters all adorable? Not that I'm partial or anything. Love, Mom
