I reached a milestone in blood donations today - I got my one gallon pin! I've still got a long ways to go to catch up to my dad (he's working on gallon THIRTEEN!), but I was excited to see my progress. It'll be at least another year and a half until I can get another gallon pin (you can only donate every other month), so I figured I'd better blog about this now!

I'm trying to remember if you were there at the Smith Family Living Center the one and only time I've attempted to give blood. I think I skipped breakfast that day and ended up a puddle on the floor. I'm grateful there are people like you who are able to donate!
That's awesome! I didn't know they gave out pins - obviously, I haven't given one gallon yet. My fear of needles is dwindling, so maybe I will donate more. Thanks for the reminder!
